There Once was a King who...
Journeyed so so far in the days and
miles of HIS way
Hastily brushing away yesterday in an
attempt to forget today
Broken memories of adolescent angst fed
the adult hunger of need
Once a proud prince amongst paupers
addicted to the blinding speed
In decadent swoons he pierced the
evenings airs
Snorting up the debauchery staring down
the dubious stares
Pounding his chest with bravado made of
the choicest wine
A KING amongst his subjects ... A KING
amongst the Swine
No guard was ever posted upon the
rampart
No fear of anything lurked within
Chambers of his heart
Until the sword of reality ... It took
It's piece of meat
And the wind of pestilence brought the
King to bended knee
The Snickering populace laughed
heartily at his broken crown
A fallen Patriarch.. a pariah whose
comeuppance had finally come around
And so the days would run together and
the sun would sweep away the moon
and the broken king with his broken
crown would lay quiet in his broken room
His possessions they were few but
enough to get him by
A dog for his companion , a place to
lay his head , and a voice that said .. "Still Try"
But try as he might the world was so
misconstrued
The right hand was a left hand .. and
in the end the King was only confused
“Surely this darkness shall lift”
the King would Cry
“Surely I can still Command this”
and surely The King did try
But the Winds of Deceit were a hearty
blustery crew
And the Black Currents of treason took
away …. took away his possessions few
A Mournful Wail ERUPTED from the King
and the Currents Heard His Thunder
Why would this Darkness claim his
precious things
and pillage where there was nothing
left to plunder?
And so the King Mourned and the Sun
Swept Away at the Moon
And the King sought refuge alone in the
quiet corner of a tiny room
He imagined his faithful dog still
tickling his nose
He dreamt of the days of youth before
the Kingly Robes
He slept a sleep of comfort in his
imaginary fleece
for when the King awoke he vowed to
never cease
He vowed to turn ...to simply turn the
other cheek
And see what Tomorrow Brings in the
Hope it Will Be PEACE
