Eventually Goes Away

I'm an ole teddy bear

Held together at the seams

With glue and thread and things unknown

In the closet seldom seen

Once i was the centerpiece

Of a young girls dreams

But now im just a teddy bear

Stored away with useless things

Im an ole bicycle

Sitting rusty in the yard

Pedals gone chain long broke

Ridden long and hard

Once i was the object

A little boy adored

Now I'm just a broken bike

Backyard trash nothing more

Cherished things once held so tight

Suffer times decay

What was new yesterday eventually goes away

Like passing time and nursery rhymes

Too old to go and play

A left behind of the days gone by

Eventually gone away

I'm an old pocket watch

Long forgotten in the drawer

Dusty sprung and tarnished

Not telling time anymore

Once I kept the schedule

A working man worked for

Now I'm right twice a day

In the night stand by the door

Cherished things once held so tight
