There are a lot of sad lonely people in this space
Putting a fake smile on a virtual face
Their only company a glass of wine
And even that runs out ..in due time

Hidden behind the walls of code
Bearing their burden.. such a mighty load
Looking to others to pass the hours by
Dropping in for distant chats and a chance to just say ..hi

Cheered up by the click of a mouse
The only sound in their empty house
Would it be that I could see their face
Wipe away their tears in their solitary place

Sing to them a jesters song
Lullaby them to comfort tell them they are not wrong
Navigate the ether to be at their side
Open up their shutters there's no more reason to hide
….yes
